Bunbury has formed a partnership with neighbouring local governments to address climate change, after it was identified as one of the most vulnerable coastal areas in the nation.

Bunbury, Mandurah and Rockingham, as well as the shires of Busselton, Capel, Dardanup, Harvey, Murray and Waroona, have pledged to work together to respond to the challenges posed by climate change, particularly in coastal areas.

Bunbury Mayor David Smith says the group will focus on the vulnerability of the coastline, as well as drainage systems, saltwater levels in groundwater and the risk of bushfires.
