Salary: $57,351 – $77,825 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
The primary role of the position is research. The successful applicant will be required to: conduct data collection and analysis, involving periods of fieldwork in East Gippsland; monitor and synthesise Australian and relevant international research on the social and equity dimensions of adaptation to climate change; assist with project management, including liaison with Partner Organisations, community groups, governments and businesses; prepare reports on the progress of the project; and help to prepare peer-reviewed academic publications informed by the research project.
The empirical work for the project is taking place in East Gippsland. The applicant would be expected to work in collaboration with Dr. Jon Barnett, Professor Ruth Fincher, and Dr. Anna Hurlimann from Melbourne University, and with Partner Organisations from State and Local Governments (the Department of Planning and Community Development, the Department of Sustainability and Environment, East Gippsland Shire Council, the Gippsland Coastal Board, and Wellington Shire Council).
