The University of Western Australia is one of Australia’s strongest research-intensive universities and has among the highest undergraduate entrance requirements. The School of Earth and Environment has a vigorous research culture and a stimulating research environment spread across a number of disciplines, including geography, geosciences, and soil science.
Western Australia has over 20,000 kilometers of coastline containing a diversity of coastal environments ranging from sandy beaches to coral reefs. The School is seeking to recruit a highly motivated scholar to undertake teaching and research in physical geography with a particular focus on coastal processes. In particular we are seeking applicants with expertise in areas such as coastal geomorphology, coastal sediment transport, nearshore hydrodynamics and coastal modelling. As the School is aiming to further strengthen its research environment, particular consideration will be given to those applicants demonstrating the ability to advance research at an international level. Applicants must have a PhD in Geography or closely related discipline. Applicants with teaching experience are requested to submit a teaching portfolio as part of their application.
